Due to the popularity of Bulrushes, please note that we now have a waiting list for new families wishing to join us. To find out more and / or to be added to the waiting list, please email us at bulrushes@oadbybaptist.church.
Bulrushes is our friendly and inclusive ‘stay-and-play’ toddler group for under 5’s and their parents or carers, which has now been running for near on 20 years!

Each Bulrushes session is packed full of toys, crafts and singing, often based around a theme for the week or the term. We have a messy play space and baby sensory space for little ones, and lots of play spaces and activities for bigger ones to encourage their fine motor skills!
We also serve tea, coffee, squash, biscuits and toast for hungry tummies in need of a snack.
In the summer (and when the weather is nice!) we also make use our Oasis Community Garden, and from time to time we love to organise parties, days out and special events too!
Due to popular demand, we now have a waiting list for new families, but we’re happy to welcome you for a taster session before you join the list. You can express your interest by emailing bulrushes@oadbybaptist.church.
When do we do it?
Bulrushes runs every Thursday during term-time from 10am till 11.30am.
Special events will be announced throughout the year and times may vary, so make sure you pick up any flyers or leaflets handed out at the weekly sessions.
How much does it cost?
Your first week is always free, so if you would like to come along and see whether Bulrushes is for you, then contact us and we will arrange a taster session and add you to our waiting list. We’ll then contact you when it’s time to move you off the waiting list and onto our register, at which point there is a charge of £1.50 per family per session. Whilst drinks and biscuits are free, there is a small charge for toast.
