Within our church vision we’re focusing on keeping Jesus at the centre of all we do, and prayer is a vital part of this. Not only does prayer bring us into the presence of our God who loves us, it also connects us together as a community as we gather to pray as a church family.

We recognise that different styles of prayer suit different personalities, and aim to offer a range of opportunities during Sunday worship and midweek, and to encourage an active prayer life as individuals in whatever way suits each member of our church family.

Gathering to Pray Together

These are our regular opportunities to pray together. If you feel that you could help in leading prayers, or have another suggestion of how we might pray together, please do speak to a member of the Leadership Team.

At times we also join together in prayer if we’re seeking the mind of Christ on a major decision, or if a member of our community is very seriously ill, or during special times with a prayer focus. During the national Thy Kingdom Come project in May/June we had prayers round a firepit, a prayer walk through Oadby to pray for our community, and we all joined in using prayer journals and prayed for 5 friends, family members or colleagues. Our young people used Digital Detox Journals and our Adventurers made prayer bracelets with 5 beads to remind them to pray for friends.

Sunday Morning Pre-service

On Sunday mornings from 10am to 10.15am we hold prayers in the Quiet Room, praying for those who will be leading or supporting the service and the children’s and youth work.

Monthly Saturday Prayer Breakfast

On the first Saturday of each month we meet for a simple breakfast in the Oasis hall at 8.30am and then pray together round the table about world issues, church life and personal concerns within the church family. Everyone is very welcome and some join us just for prayer.

Monthly Wednesday Prayers

On the first Wednesday of each month we gather for prayer in the sanctuary from 6-7pm using a range of forms of prayer led by different members of the church family.
